Summer activities

This harsh land of peaks, needles and domes has a softer summer face. The mountain pastures, the pretty paths and the torrents which traverse the slopes, forests and villages are fertile in extraordinary discoveries for all explorers of the Great Outdoors. With, as an added bonus, panoramic views and horizons like hyphens between the earth and sky.

Arriving in the Pays du Mont-Blanc is like stepping into a fairy tale. From whichever side you enter, the majesty of the landscapes is always a new enchantment. From Sallanches, the snow-covered Mont-Blanc range's domes and needles point towards the sky. From the Col des Montets, you meet the high mountain rocks, glacier landscapes and pretty hamlets at once. From the Val d'Arly, the mountain pastures enfold you. Here, mountain and hill farmers have shaped the small valleys behind which the high summits tower. The Val Montjoie, formerly a famous route for smugglers, is nowadays better-known for our baroque heritage, torrents and access to the pretty glaciers behind the Mont Blanc. The mouth-watering choice of roads into our magic land is just a taste of the multitude of discoveries awaiting you at every altitude. In spring and in summer you are in the land of fresh air and the Great Outdoors ...open your lungs - and your minds!
